Palette Review: Stila In the Know (Matte Shades)

So much matte! I was lucky enough snag this palette from Ulta for HALF PRICE during their huge 21 Days of Beauty sale. I love the quality of these creamy shadows — great pigmentation! It has taken me some time to really learn how to use this palette. I have been using at least one of the first four (of the top row) shades as a base or highlight every day. I find that that most of these shadows work beautifully with a grey/cool/smoky look –yet I have also been able to create some great looks by adding in some shimmery rose gold and pink crease colors. The charcoal liner is a huge plus, too! This is technically my first big girl palette– and I am hooked. This will certainly last me for a while, and I am happy to have these shades in my collection. Overall, it is pretty versatile and definitely high quality, but if you can only purchase one big ‘ol fancy palette, this might not be it for you. If you need more variety in terms of finish, I have heard great things about Stilla’s In the Light palette.

Check out the four gorgeous palettes in this line, all only $39 on Stila’s website!

ELF Blush/Bronzer Duo Review: St. Lucia

You MUST check out this duo. This blush is a beautiful muted coral with subtle gold flecks. The bronzer is light enough for my (not yet tanned) skin tone and isn’t crazy sparkly. The pigmentation isn’t amazing, but I prefer to build up blusher/bronzer/contour.  Only $3 at ELF’s Website!

Overall: ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

This duo is a well-documented (limited edition) dupe for Nars Blush/Bronzer Duo in Orgasm & Laguna…a whooping $42 at Sephora!

Palette Review: Stila Not So Nude

This is one of three natural palettes from Stila. I have had this for about six months now and still love it. The packaging makes for a great travel palette. It fits nicely in most of my purses for touch-ups.

The eye shadows have a bit of fallout, but are buildable and blendable. I have been able to create many different looks from day to night. I know everyone loves kitten, but I prefer a more subtle highlight. I haven’t quite figured out how to make the cream blush work for me, but I plan to give it another try when my dry winter skin smooths out.

Overall, this palette gets such a high rating due to value and versatility. Make sure to check out the colors in the other two related palettes (Dare to Bare and The Natural) to find out which one will work the best for you!
